When I send an IM to someone not on my list, do they automatically receive an invite to be added?

No...they are not automatically added to your Messenger list when you IM someone not on your list.





If you want to add them, here's how you do it --





In the Messenger window, click the Add a Contact ( + ) button.





In the Add window, enter the contact鈥檚 Yahoo! ID, then click the Next button.





Click the Finish button.





Messenger displays the contact鈥檚 name on your Messenger List in a temporary state.





If the contact accepts your request, the addition becomes permanent.





If the contact declines, Yahoo! Messenger sends you a notice and removes the name from your Messenger List.
