How can i make my bedroom more inviting?

I have a medium sized bedroom. It is very "hard" and un-inviting and i can't relax in it. I want to change it so that i can relax and enjoy it, but i don't have a lot of money to spend on it. I have tan walls that i can't repaint. My bedspread is brown and black. I want to incorperate greens into my room because i want it to have an earthy feel without it being un-relaxing. I have two dressers and a desk in my room. How can i rearrange and accesorize my room so that it is more inviting and relaxing?
How can i make my bedroom more inviting?
Tan walls are perfect for a feng shui theme. You can actually use green in the form of plants. Put small bamboo shoots in a vase, and buy other plants. Fountains are very inviting, but it is all about the ambience! Replace your light switch with a dimmer, and choose lamp shades that cast off light in a nice soothing way.
Reply:make it clean, and make sure your curtains are open so the sun can come in. This makes your bedroom more inviting and also makes your guest comfortable to come in. Also, organize your stuff so that it is in place and your bedspread's color is both DARK colors. In my opinion, it is best to have a combination of one dark color and one bright color. For example: black and white. they'll stand out and REALLY grab people's attention. Also, you can try RED.

and green is also very nice, i personally love green and it IS very relaxing when you look at it. so YES, green is a great choice of color too! =]
Reply:paint it bright colors and keep the windows with airy curtains.
Reply:feng shui, that works for me, look into it.
Reply:My wife did this little trick - it cost maybe $100. It is a swag and a picture over our bed. She bought some decorative pegs that screwed into the wall, then she draped fabric up, over and down the other side - with a filmy fabric (organza? sheer? something like that). Two colors, rolled around each other - making a "rope" about 20-25' long. It flared out as it fell on either side of the bed. Then she bought a big print in a cheap plastic frame and pinned it up in the middle, so this swag frames it. It's been there five years and we still haven't bothered to buy a headboard. It is very cool.
Reply:it's called Extreme Makeover: Home Edition!!! call them but make sure u have a story to go with it!!
Reply:a bar with free drinks
Reply:Small things like flowers work wonders. Put a nice picture on the wall, maybe a nice chair to relax in...

If all this is out of your reach, just have to blinds and window open with some flowers in a vase on the desk or something.
Reply:You just need candles!
Reply:put a board in front of it "welcome" it will become more inviting...lol
Reply:Add some pictures, even on top of your dressers if you can't hang them. Get frames from the dollar store and print photos on your computer, even black and white will look nice.

Then add some soft ambient lighting. And perhaps buy a mosquito net or fabric canopy for over the bed. You can get them cheap on eBay.

Reply:Add a little touch of plant life(if you don't have a green thumb, try some cactus, there are soo many to choose from) you said green....I would go with a soft green and even a little light blue both colors go with black and brown (accent pillows, sheer curtains) then candles....something with a nice scent, NOT too overpowering, water is another element, but the light blue would take care of that! Best of luck!......AND DON'T HAVE CLUTTER ON YOUR FURNITURE OR ROOM, IT MAKES IT LOOK SMALLER AND GIVES IT AN UNCOMFORTABLE FEELING! ;)
Reply:You should get a bean bag and some string lights.
Reply:use some cream colors for ur bedsheets, best some natural materials. big pillows!, if not the same, then matching to the bedsheet or some pas tell(soft) colors ,looks fresh.

get some plants inside the room, not to many flowers, just lots of green. palms are always looking good. and to cover boring walls, get some light wooden plate, in a big size...paint it, not too accurate...put it on the wall. or get some nice pictures....

try to keep harmony between colors, don't put too much. use more natural, and natural looking, materials.

light is important, don't use too much neon light, it looks very hard. more light, more fresh air. smells are also important, use incense sticks or oil-lamps,also their look creates a relaxing, and somehow sexy atmosphere.

according to vastu, or feng shui... best is to sleep with ur head directed to nord, or east...but never south....

good luck
Reply:try to make the bed the focus of the room kind of like a fireplace in a living room. I would also get some of those palm trees and a water fountain. Both are inexpensive. Candles and scents work wonders too soft music might help also. Try fluffy pillows you might be able to get them on discount I would say $50 dollars for everything should do the trick. Good Luck and hope you find inner peace .
