I would stop inviting him. He chose where he is.
My brother never responds to invites to family activities that I hold.Must I continue to invite him?
No you don't but warn him and tell what you plan to do if he fails to respond next time.
People like that have no respect for hosts.
Reply:If he never responds, then I would call him or write him and try to find out why he wants nothing to do with you. If he doesn't respond to that, I wouldn't invite him to family events. Why waste your time? If he changes his mind, he'll call you. Keep your lines open if he does want to reconcile. It'd be very sad to lose all contact with your brother.
Reply:I have a sister that does the same thing. If you are close to him, ask him why he doesn't respond. Ask him if he wants to be notified of activites and open up the discussion about why he never attends or responds.
Whatever you do, just do it in a caring tone and don't become accusatory. Don't blame him, just let him state if there is any interest or not. If not, don't hold it against him, just don't invite him. If he is, let him explain why he acts the way he does.
