Considering that the person being honoured is 13, of course you want to invite the children! Would YOU want to be the only kid in a group of adults? :)
Do we need to invite the children when having a Bar or Bat Mitzvah?
I think it would be appropriate as this is part of tradition and also where children could learn more about their traditions.
If babies, I would hope the parents could find a sitter though.
Reply:You especially need to invite the child of the parents whose kid is having the Bar or Bat Mitzvah(in other words, the Bar or Bat Mitzvah child). The 46th anniversary of mine is March 10.
Reply:Bar and Bat Mitzvah's are the celebration of children, becoming young adults. I would invite the children, and usually at a Bar Mitzvah, there's always something for the kids,.. magician, games, dancing, so it should be for the whole family.
Reply:No. Your child should be the only one that invites his/her friends.
Reply:Yes, it will be polite, it's up to the parents that are invited if they decide to bring them to the celebration or leave them at home with a nanny
Reply:probably. especially if you get it at the usual age such as 13. they will probably want to invite all their friends. ask them.
Reply:since the party is for the boy or girl, yes - their friends should be invited.
Reply:If you invite the parent, usually, yes, after all, in our "modern" culture and times, the Bar Mitzvah boy is still considered a "child"...
